The student & their goal.
Priya came to Global Scholar with a clear ambition — an MBA from a top Australian university — and a very real constraint: her family's budget could stretch to cover tuition only if she secured significant scholarship support. She had a strong academic record (8.4 CGPA), two years of work experience at an NBFC, and excellent IELTS scores. What she lacked was a strategy to translate those credentials into scholarship wins.
What was standing in the way.
Australia's top MBA programs are expensive, and merit scholarships are competitive — often awarded to candidates with both academic excellence and compelling personal narratives. Priya's work experience was in a niche sector that wasn't immediately legible to admissions committees. She also needed to navigate the Australian Student Visa (Subclass 500) while managing a tight timeline to meet scholarship application deadlines.
I almost didn't apply to Melbourne because I thought my profile wasn't good enough for scholarship consideration. Global Scholar not only convinced me otherwise but showed me exactly how to position my experience. Getting that scholarship letter was one of the best moments of my life.

How Global Scholar made it happen.
- 01
Scholarship Mapping
We mapped Priya's profile against 12+ scholarship programs across 5 Australian universities, identifying three scholarships where her finance background and NBFC experience gave her a genuine edge.
- 02
Narrative Development
We reframed her NBFC experience around financial inclusion and grassroots impact — a lens that resonated strongly with Melbourne's scholarship committee, which prioritises social impact alongside academic merit.
- 03
Application Calibration
We submitted to a calibrated shortlist of 4 universities — not scattershot — ensuring each application was tailored. Melbourne was our target and we built her application specifically around their scholarship criteria.
- 04
Visa & Financial Guidance
Post-scholarship confirmation, we guided Priya through the Subclass 500 visa application, Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) requirements, and financial documentation to ensure zero complications.
Where they are now.
Priya received the University of Melbourne Graduate Access Melbourne Scholarship, covering 40% of her first-year tuition — AUD 18,000, or approximately ₹11 lakhs. She also received an offer from Monash University. She chose Melbourne, began her MBA, and has since completed a summer internship with a Melbourne-based investment management firm.
